Luke almost back to evens after chipping away at Martin again. Then the hand we’ve been waiting for. It all goes in when they both hit an ACE on the flop.
Martin raises it to 270k and called by Luke. The flop is As7h9d and Luke checks. Martin bets 180k and Luke calls it.
Jc is the turn card and Luke checks it again. Martin bets 450k and now Luke announces “all-in!”
Martin takes his time. Thoughts rushing through his head. “I call!”
Martin has AcKd and Luke Ad4d
The river brings Ts (after cries of “4!” from the rail Luke supporters)

They are closely matched with different colour denominations so a count is needed. In the end Martin has him well covered and he is the GUKPT London Leg Champion and wins £172,850 plus a seat in the Champions of Champions event plus a seat in the Grand Final back here at the Victoria in December.

Luke takes home £103,000 for second place.
Martin now 3.2 m and Luke 1.5 m
Jonathan Raab currently running the commentary. “Another insignificant hand” as Luke folds preflop from the button. “Well, it may not have been insignificant if Luke had played as Martin has pocket KINGS.”
Chip count at 5AM if we’re still here.
It isn’t!
A huge cheer and hugs all round when Luke Trotman thinks he’s won the title when he makes a flush on the river. The thing is Martin has just made a full house with the self same card.
Qd6d for Luke and Kh7c for Martin. It all goes in on the turn with the board showing 8h7h5d8d and a 7d on the river.

The swings are to Luke and the roundabouts to Martin.
Luke storms ahead with AJ when he calls Martin on the river and the Irishman moves to muck but Luke wants to see his cards. He has A4.
Luke raised to 240k and called by Martin. The 335 flop is checked by both. A JACK on the turn and Luke bets 300k and Martin calls. A queen on the river and Luke checks. Martin bets 420k and called by Luke. Luke now 3.2 m and looks like it’s going his way. We’re back where we started at heads up play.
It’s dead even out there.
Luke has wormed his way back, but both are playing well. Martin making well-timed bluffs - and showing them. Luke probably doing the same and not showing.
They’re all big pots these and I’d love to tell you something untoward or exciting, but we’er just into a pattern here and playing swapsies with the chips.
Blinds 50k 100k
Martin raises it up to 180k and called by Luke. 836 rainbow flop and Martin checks it, so Luke bets 320k. Martin calls it.
A 5 on the turn and Martin checks again. Luke bets half-a-million.
“When you have a big hand your adam’s apple is a-quiverin’” Luke puts his head down.
Martin folds, slightly rattled. Only ever so slightly.
They both hit a JACK on the flop. Martin bets it and Luke moves in. “I’ve got to call it.”
Martin has J7 and Luke J5

So, J84 Q 3 and the 7 plays
Martin up to 3.2 m and Luke down to 1.5 m
