It didn’t take much longer.  Marc set Nik allin on a A T 3 board after his preflop 80k raise and called by Nik for his last 200k.
Nik has KT and Marc with A8.  Nic has more outs after the turn of a Jack, but another Jack on the river and Marc adds another tournament title to his already impressive CV.

Nik Persaud takes home £52,530 for 2nd place

Marc Goodwin wins £90,420 plus £3,000 seat in the Grand Final

Just before the break with Marc Goodwin “insta-calling” the 60k preflop bet from Zachary Ford we lose the latter when Marc “insta-calls” the allin 8 high flop bet from Zach with 8d9d.  Zach with QT and no cavalry, Kimosabe !

.. a 20 minute break and then we’re headsup.

Action from Level 22

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Charles pushing in almost every hand with no callers.  He’s building up over 40k each hand and has close to 400k again now, but still very much the short stack, Nik with million and half and Marc with the rest out of 3,090,000 chips in play.
The one hand he doesn’t raise Marc wakes up with Aces in the big blind.  Nik Persaud makes up the blind and folds to a raise from Marc.
It’s only a matter of time before it’s headsup with Marc and Nik, but don’t quote me on that one.

Laurence has been careful all night, knowing when to put down a hand to an ott raise, carefully nursing his chips.
This time he raises to 160k with Nik Persaud setting him allin and he calls with his AQ.  Nik has pocket KK’s.  The board comes Jack high and Nik sitting pretty.

Tournament Update Level 21

Sunday, April 27th, 2008

Marc Goodwin in a different league, class, wo’evah !  This is his for the taking.  He takes over 100k off Laurence Houghton holding 85 after calling a preflop raise, calling the flop no pair, hitting a 5 and calling a 50k river bet.  Marc over a million chips, must be.
Charles has pushed allin 3 times, no callers.  The very first hand back he found pocket QQ’s.  He’s back over 200k now.
