Just when it counts

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Glen Altham has been living on fumes for the last couple of hours.  He dwindles, goes all-in, doubles up.  Now, twice up against Jeff Kimber, he wins the first then raises Jeff’s preflop raise all-in for the last time.

He’s looking good with AK against the big Jaffa’s AQ, but a QUEEN on the river and that’s our final table sorted.  Glen takes home £1,980 for 10th place.

Level 16

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Blinds 3k 6k ante 400

15 minute break

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

When they return they will play level 16, when in all likeliness, they will get down to the final 9.

Akenhead out

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

He open pushed with AJ for around 60k and called by Lawrie Inman (rather quickly for him after dwelling an age for a 20k all-in when he had JJ’s to take out Nick Slade - but that’s another story)… Lawrie with KT!.. and Lawrie hits, James doesn’t.

Still 11 o’ the blighters

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Glen Altham’s managed to double up twice but is still the short stack on 50k

Down to 11

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

Peter Abela went out on the bubble in 14th.

Kyriacos Seranta is out in 13th and Nick Slade has just exited in 12th. Nick moved all in with A-9 and an age later lawrie Inman decided to make the call with pocket jacks. No help for Nick sent the Preston man out and rather unhappy about how long Lawrie took to call.

Both Seranta and Slade take home £1,300.

Darren Annis chip leader

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

He flops a flush against Peter Abela, the latter with pocket ACES and holding the nut flush draw.  They get it on, but Peter suffers and down to 6k. Darren (he of the A9 fame) now up to 230k
