Owston Out

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Dan Ouston all-in from the button with JT and called by James Martin from the small blind with AQ.  James hits a QUEEN, but Dan with straight potential, but it’s not to be.  We have our final 9 (chip counts and seating to follow)

… expect the final table to start around 3pm tomorrow .. this to be confirmed.

Back on the Bubble

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

We had a bubble for the money and now we’re down to 10 with one more player to go to end the night and give us our final table.

Phillip Wise moves in for 30k and round to Dan Owston.  “I could do something silly here”, he says.  “I’ve got a high pair”.  He has similar chips to Phillip.  He folds (99’s he had) and James Martin makes an insta call with AK.  Phillip not so wise with AQ.  They both hit an ACE, so Dan made the right move.  The KING kicker plays and Phillip finishes 11th for £1,500.

Level 14

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Blinds 1.5k 3k ante 200

Bus

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Lloyd Rees makes a stand with 66’s but Andreas Hoivold with AK “all-in and a call on table 3″, says the Norwegian.

The 347 flop looks good for Lloyd but the KING and ACE that follow ain’t so good.  He leaves us with nada.

No longer a Baker’s Dozen

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

We’re now playing hand-4-hand as we lose Richard Sinclair (AQ) to Craig Swatton (AK)

And then there were 13

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Richard Swerling with AK against Iwan Jones’ KK’s.  Iwan up to 115k.  2 players off the money.

“It always works”

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

says Jon Kalmar as he’s taking his coat back off after putting it on when all-in against Papa.

Karl raises first to speak and Jon all-in for 34k.  Andreas then dwells for an age before calling it.  Back round to Karl “I don’t know whether that was a genuine think from Andreas or a moody”.. he folds.

Jon with AQ and Papa TT’s.  Jon hits the ace on the turn to get back to average chips once more.

Owston outed

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

By Tristan MacDonald, who raises from early position with Dan Owston coming over the top for 13k more from the SB.  Tristan calls no thought, ‘cepting “how much more you got?” “25,200″

A KING rag rag flop and Dan checks.  Tristan asks again.  “25,200″ The Vic regular bets 15k.  Dan now flustered and folds.
